Oh Hi Hi

Left the city over the weekend.  Doesn’t smell like smog and a burning laptop up there.

Me yesterday. Which was Monday, which means ‘Car Swap Day‘.

I returned the Acura in Markham, then took  a taxi (!) to Mississauga.

Meet my driver, Sanjiwan. Welcome to my blog! We put the world to rights during the 45km trip, and it was awesome.

He taught me that in India, the Honda Civic is called a “City”. Neat, eh.

This week I’m driving an Infiniti G37 Coupe.

Tight steering, a rough ride, this is a sports car. Look for my blur this week :|

Hmmm, what else… I downloaded new apps, to make my photos here on KeriBlog even more beautiful.

Tweeted this.

Been video editing.

I’m adjusting to the new FinalCut X, which is taking forever because it’s so different from my last five years.

It’s like learning how to edit all over again. Ask anyone who edits, “like the new Final Cut”? and bet 9/10 times: UGH no siiiiigh.

See the arrow pointing at the white dots? That’s audio being key framed, which you really need, which I had to watch several tutorial videos to figure out.  Okay okay, </rant>.

Screenshot from editing.

Changed the top of my blog header from wood to grass.

Posted a new profile pic.

A big congratulations to 1188 Films on their

MMVA Sunday night for “Best Post Production”!!

Gotta run, TTY on Twitter.

Wrapping Up This Week

Busy week!  Squished a lot of activity, kilometres and things.

In no particular order.

My hair is coming back to a proper blonde from being that awful shade of urine when two weeks ago I said goodbye to being bright bright blonde.  No way around having that colour, that’s the price of platinum.

Still surprised when I look in the mirror. Still unimpressed with myself for caring about hair colour so much. Ya ya, I am a brand and all that, but come on, no one is shooting at me, you know?

Fact.

If you’re curious about “Operation Rue the Day” ask me IRL.

You’ll love it, I can’t publicly tell you, and concludes in one week.

I’ve harped on you about this before, and now again: please call right now the oldest person you know, and tell them you’re thinking of them.  They need it.

My peonies are coming in beautifully.

I stick my face in flowers for long as I can remember. Why wouldn’t you? It’s soft and smells great. There’s a shot in my Canadian Explorer Intro of me doing that.

Gardening seems like the most boring thing ever, maybe when I’m 80 I’ll give it a go. I’ll only grow flowers. I could maybe see myself getting into seeds too, if only because of this.

The most exciting thing that happened to me this week was my trip with Honda Canada to Niagara Falls.

They put us up at Ontario’s only 5 star country inn, the Pillar and Post.

Here’s the only photo taken during dinner.

Because the best part about dinner was: none of us touched our phones. At ALL. That’s refreshing.

A dream come true.

Here’s the keys to one of only 400 Civic HFP‘s in Canada, Keri! Now get out there and drive hard.

More on that later, obviously it’ll have its own post, plus I have video of my skillllls.

Kay gotta run, driving up north for the night, have a good one TTYL!

Shift You Later Civic, Sigh

I love shifting gears, you know this.

Most press cars are automatic. So this week was real refreshing.

Shift, rev, peel, skip from 4th to 2nd, lots of superfluous revving just because I can.

I use the hazard button a LOT when I drive.

It find it more effective than brake lights alone.

See the pink arrow above? Note the positioning, the clear path from wheel to engaging the alert system? That’s how you know this is a drivers car – Honda Civic SI.

Shifting gears is easy, don’t be intimidated.

It’s like learning a little dance routine: depress clutch, shift with arm, release clutch. See? Easy.

Even in 5″ heels.

Had to give it back Monday to Honda Canada.

This week’s car, an Acura MDX.

Acura is the fancy, higher-end line of Honda.

It’s making me drive slower, like the Navigator did. I guess that’s good.

Sorry For the Un-Updated Yesterday

Been crushing my keyboard, just not with public stuff.

It’s a challenge juggling blog jobs… keep it afloat with content, keep it afloat with logistics, planning and executing, travel, maintaining a steady internet connection, physical maintenance of my tools , this thing is supposed to make money how, and that’s not even the tip of the iceberg.

I love it.

This is neat: if you watch TV in the Toronto area,

it likely comes through here, Telesat,

down in my beloved Cherry Beach.

Stay clear of these for a while too, the ‘Service Ontario’ kiosks, they were hacked today.

Cleaning up an identity theft is far more involved than a credit card; use a human teller until they get their machines secured.

Also – change your LinkedIn password… they were hacked Tuesday.

Me Today & Me Yesterday

Great action shot, eh.

It’s SO NICE to be shifting again, I haven’t since the fall.

Thanks for the PEN, Olympus.

Hope you had a great #ThursdayNight, best night of the week!

Get out there and crush your Friday, TTY on Twitter.

Wash Your Car This Saturday for CF

Yesterday I attended the kickoff party for the

9th Annual CARSTAR National Car Wash for Cystic Fibrosis

happening this Saturday June 9 2012.

How cool are these rear windows!

This is dirty car artist Scott Wade. All originals, and it was a single-day exhibit.

I just had to know.

Hm hm hmm, let’s go look at the tools.

Of course I found Ford here.

These events are always great for running into friends.

That’s Dan, Reggie and Shannon, always great seeing you guys! xo

Go get your car washed on Saturday, it probably needs it anyway.

There are locations everywhere. No seriously… how have  I never noticed a CARSTAR before? When I scrolled through their Southern Ontario cities, they’re in like, all of them.

Good luck breaking your $2 million goal, #SoapsItUp!
